Banzai, what does it mean?    


Originally, “Banzaï” (万歳) is a Japanese word that literally means “ten thousand years of life” — a wish for longevity and prosperity once addressed to the emperor.

Today, however, “Banzaï!” is above all an exclamation of joy and enthusiasm, used to celebrate a moment, raise a toast, or simply savor the present.

That’s exactly what I aim to convey through my cooking: generosity, freshness, and a genuine zest for life.

At Banzaï, cooking takes many forms, all centered around the pleasure of eating well and creating unique culinary experiences.

Who is behind Banzai?

My name is Nadia (and Sakura in Japanese), and I’m a cook, a host, and passionate about food that brings people together.

My style: homemade dishes inspired by my travels, my roots, and a constant desire to delight.

My cooking is simple, sincere, generous — a bit like an invitation into my home.

Through Banzaï, I create culinary experiences that are both delicious and human: around a shared table, during a workshop, or in your own home, each dish is designed to mark the moment and nourish more than just the appetite.
